Well...I know what I'll be wearing, of course! The wedding party will all be dressed to the nines, but this is an afternoon, garden wedding and we want our guests to be comfortable. Cocktail length dresses or pant suits are fine for the ladies, and the men can choose to wear slacks and a button-up shirt rather than suits if you prefer. The whole point of the day - other than the obvious - is for us all to be together and have a good time, so wear what you feel comfortable in.
Just make sure you bring your dancing shoes!

Honeymoon Plans
Everybody wants to know, where we're planning to go for our honeymoon!
David and I both have a love for Alaska. It's such a beautiful place, and it has such a mystique about it for being so far away and so hard to tame. Now, I am not by any means the kind of girl who likes to "rough it" - but staying in comfort on the edge of wilderness, that sounds pretty darn good to me.
Unfortunately, because of the way the flights worked out and the fact that a trip to Alaska is a pretty long plane ride, we won't be able to stay and have brunch with our guests Sunday morning. We'll be heading to New Orleans right after the reception. We'll stay one night there, and then fly to Anchorage the next day. It's pretty much an all day flight. We'll spend the night in the Captain Cook, looking out over Cook Inlet. The next day, we'll do a little sight-seeing in Anchorage, and then drive to Homer, AK, on Kachemak Bay, where we'll spend the rest of the week. .
According to ClimateZone.com, temperatures range between 28 to 42 degrees in Homer in April. That's a little chilly, but we don't mind. The day/night cycle won't be too far off from normal (for Alaska), with sunrise around 6:30 a.m. and sunset around 9:30 p.m. I'm hoping it will still have a little snow while we're there - we certainly aren't getting much at home this year! On average, Homer receives about 57.8 inches of snow annually. Homer's a cloudy place, but the views over the bay are to die for, and that's why we're going. We'll be staying at the Lands' End Resort in one of their "lodge homes" (which are basically townhouses split up into condo units). It sounds like we won't have much company at that time of year, so it should be nice and cozy for the two of us.
While we might do some spur-of-the-moment sort of sight-seeing while we're there, we're not planning a whole lot of activities. This is our time to cuddle up, relax, decompress from all the wedding stress, and just enjoy each other's company. I'm going to bring my knitting, we'll have books, music, and each other (and, knowing David, some form of video gameage will also be at hand) (not that there's anything wrong with that). It'll be good memories, before we have to come home and figure out life together.

With This Ring
This past weekend, we went looking at wedding rings! My engagement ring has a matching band that we're going to get, so we were really shopping for David. He surprised me! I really thought he would want a plain band, but as we shopped, he took a shine (ha) to the rings with a hammered finish. He ultimately selected a hammered band with a milgrain edging, in platinum, to match my rings.
